SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Tanzania's Iconic Safari Destination

Few places on Earth stir the imagination like Serengeti National Park. Spanning over 14,750 square kilometers in northern Tanzania, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is synonymous with African safaris. It’s world-famous for the Great Migration, but the Serengeti offers so much more: endless plains, rich wildlife, and unforgettable safari moments.

At Mawenzi Adventures, we craft tailor-made safaris that let you experience the Serengeti your way – whether that’s tracking lions on a game drive, spotting leopards at sunrise, or watching thousands of wildebeest thunder across the plains.

WHY CHOOSE SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK FOR YOUR SAFARI?

LANDSCAPES OF THE SERENGETI

Serengeti’s name comes from the Maasai word “Siringet,” meaning “endless plains.” But within its boundaries, you’ll discover a diversity of habitats that make every corner unique:

  • Southern Plains: Short-grass savannas teeming with wildlife during calving season (Dec–March).

  • Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley): Excellent year-round game viewing with resident cats.

  • Western Corridor: Riverine forests and the dramatic Grumeti River crossings (May–July).

  • Northern Serengeti: Quiet and scenic; site of the iconic Mara River crossings (July–October).

  • We’ll always combine it with other parks to better distribute driving times.

  • Flights are also available to and from all areas of the Serengeti. You can fly between the Serengeti and Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar, other parks, etc., usually on a daily basis.

    • Serengeti is perfect to combine with other parks. For the ultimate safari, pair it with Ngorongoro crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Arusha National Park and Lake Natron if you have time for a longer safari.
