Visit the 4 most famous parks of northern Tanzania in 1 safari for a maximum chance of seeing the big 5. Lake Manyara and Tarangire national park are both famous for their elephants, but both offer such different landscapes that it’s definitely worth visiting both. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree climbing lions, which make it worth a visit by itself. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater are home to so many species the list would be too long, but you’re likely to see buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, lions and if you’re lucky maybe even leopards and rhinoceros. Twende! Let’s go!

SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1: Moshi – Lake Manyara National Park
Your guide will pick you up at your accommodation in Moshi and drive about 3 to 4 hours to Lake Manyara National Park. Lunch will be served in the park and you’ll spend the rest of the day game driving. Spotting elephants is almost definitely on he program, and try to keep your eyes open for one of the tree-sitting lions. You’ll head to your accommodation before the evening sets in, either in the park or outside of it depending on the type you picked. Dinner will be served at the accommodation.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, it’s time to head to the Serengeti over the bumpy road that will take you there. You’ll drive through Ngorongoro conservation area before reaching the entrance of Serengeti National Park and from there we’ll either take you to your accommodation inside the park first, where you’ll have lunch, or organize lunch somewhere in the park. The rest of the afternoon is reserved for a stunning game drive through the Serengeti. You’ll witness an extraordinary nature, as well as an abundance of animals like lions, gnus, Thomson gazelles and zebras. In the evening we’ll bring you to your accommodation, where you’ll have dinner and an early sleep.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
We’ll make you get up early today, as we don’t want you to miss the Serengeti at sunrise. After a light breakfast with coffee, tea and biscuits, we’ll take you on a game drive until around 11 am. Once you’re back at your accommodation brunch is served, after which we’ll start heading back towards Ngorongoro conservation area, with the chance to stop and see more wildlife along the way. Some of the accommodation options at Ngorongoro offer magnificent views of the crater but others don‘t, so please inform us while booking. We’ll provide dinner at your accommodation again, and recommend another early night to be fresh for day 4.

Day 4: Ngorongoro crater
Another early start today! After breakfast you’ll head towards Ngorongoro crater. You’ll enter the crater over the steep path that leads down. Get ready to take in the amount of different animals you’re about to see – only giraffes and a few other species are absent, but other than that the wildlife density in this area is nothing less but impressive. You’re almost guaranteed to see large numbers of gnus (wildebeest), zebras, buffaloes and gazelles and chances are you’ll be able to spot rhinos and leopards. Accommodation is the same as on day 1.
Day 5: Tarangire National Park
More elephant spotting at Tarangire National Park today. You’ll spend the morning in the park, depending on how many animals show up. You’ll have lunch in the park and drive back to Moshi after that.
6-day package
For the 6-day package, we add a whole day in the Serengeti. Your accommodation will be the same as that for your other night in the Serengeti.
Please note
The order of the parks might differ in function of the other participants if you pick this package as a group tour. It might also change for private tours, if there’s external factors that make it better. However the number of days spent in each park is always the same.
