MOUNTAIN CLIMBS – MOUNT MERU & KILIMANJARO TREKKING
The highest mountain in Africa, and the tallest freestanding mountain on earth, Mount Kilimanjaro will make every mountain lover’s heart beat faster. But it’s not the only mountain worth climbing in Tanzania. Mount Meru might be a bit smaller, its landscape is definitely not less stunning. Are you dreaming of a Mount Meru or Kilimanjaro trekking adventure? Let us help you realize it!
Below we give you not only the necessary details about our tours, but also lots of practical and general information to help you prepare for your trip. When’s the best time to go, how to deal with the altitude, how to get physically ready, … it’s all here on this page. Because we don’t just want to sell you a tour, we want to make sure you’re 100% ready for it, and turn it into an adventure of a lifetime!
Imagine having to carry 30 kg of somebody else’s stuff up the highest mountain in Africa, on your head, at a dazzling speed because you have to get to the campsite in time to build tents and cook food for the tourists, all whilst being paid just 5 USD per day and having to sleep on the floor in a leaking tent…
Unfortunately, this is reality for many porters on Kilimanjaro. But we have decided to do things differently, and to never put people in horrible conditions just for our own profit. No, we don’t offer the cheapest tours on the market, but every extra cent goes towards creating respectful working conditions for our crew members. We hope you will help us make a difference.
OUR PACKAGES – MOUNT MERU & KILIMANJARO
Our packages include a selection of the most popular itineraries for Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Choose between a shorter or longer trek up Mount Meru, a day hike on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, or several Kilimanjaro routes, each with their own characteristics. Below you’ll find the full itineraries for our climbs, with prices and all the information you need to decide which route is best for you.
KILIMANJARO, MARANGU ROUTE (5/6 DAYS)
Considered the ‘easiest’ way to the summit from a technical point of view, with a soft ascent in general, accessible paths and accommodation in huts, Marangu route is ideal for less experienced climbers. Available as a 5- or 6-day trip, with an extra acclimatization day to increase your chances of making it to the top.
KILIMANJARO, MACHAME ROUTE (6/7 DAYS)
The most popular route up Mount Kilimanjaro, Machame route is without a doubt the most scenic one, offering incredible views and varied landscapes. It’s not an easy route though, and some experience and a good physical condition are required to make it to the summit.
KILIMANJARO, LEMOSHO ROUTE (7/8 DAYS)
Beautiful, remote and unspoilt, Lemosho route is one of the longest routes leading to the top of Kilimanjaro. It partly follows the same trail as Machame route, but offers more chances of seeing wildlife, and will take you over paths only a handful other climbers choose to follow.
